Imagine having five classic tube-amp power plants instantly accessible and packed into one amp head. Now imagine being able to apply any one of these configurations to each of four fully-featured channels, complete with rectifier switching capabilies and several gain choices. Mesa’s Progressive Linkage gives you just that! The Road King sports an impressive tube complement, including two EL34s and four 6L6 power tubes. It also houses no less than six 12AX7 preamp tubes and two 5U4 rectifier tubes. Each channel’s Progressive Linkage functionality lets you combine 6L6s and EL34s, use them independently, or, in the case of the quartet of 6L6s, use the power of all four.
